To enhance the quality of health care for all residents of Mendocino, Lake and Sonoma Counties

To facilitate the individual and collective practice of medicine

To encourage adoption of Electronic Health Records

To interconnect all participants in the local health care community

To collaborate with regional, State and Federal health information technology initiatives

WHAT IS A HEALTH INFORMATION EXCHANGE? [ JULY 2008 ]
A health information exchange (HIE) is a secure data service that utilizes national standards to enable the electronic transfer of clinical information among health care facilities.

In Mendocino, Lake and Sonoma Counties, a 7,000 square mile region in rural Northern California, the Redwood MedNet HIE enables the bidirectional exchange of electronic clinical data among small rural hospitals and local health care providers.

Redwood MedNet was incorporated in August 2005 as a 501(c)(3) nonprofit corporation. Redwood MedNet launched its clinical results delivery service in Healdsburg, California in April 2008.

A nonprofit Health Information Exchange (HIE) established in 2005 in Mendocino, Lake and Sonoma Counties in Northern California, Redwood MedNet delivers clinical data to health care providers in our rural region.
